Purchasing & Digital Delivery
Are Velvet Ink Atelier products physical or digital?
Unless a product listing specifically states otherwise, Velvet Ink Atelier products are digital products. No physical item will be mailed or shipped to you.
Please review the product description before purchasing so you know exactly which files, formats, sizes, and designs are included.
How will I receive my files?
After your payment has been successfully processed, your purchase confirmation will provide access to your digital files through a Dropbox download link.
The Dropbox link allows you to download your purchased files directly to your computer or device.
Do I need a Dropbox account to download my purchase?
No. You do not need a Dropbox account to download files delivered through a Velvet Ink Atelier Dropbox link.
Simply open the link and choose the download option. You do not need to create an account, sign in, or add the files to your own Dropbox.
How do I download my files from Dropbox?
Open the Dropbox link provided with your purchase and select Download.
If your purchase contains a folder or collection of files, Dropbox may download the collection as a ZIP file. Save the downloaded file to a location on your computer where you can easily find it.
For larger collections, downloading to a desktop or laptop computer is recommended.
Can I download my files to a phone or tablet?
Many files can be downloaded to mobile devices, but large collections and ZIP files are generally easier to manage on a desktop or laptop computer.
If you plan to use your purchase in desktop design software, downloading and organizing the files on your computer first is recommended.
What is a ZIP file, and how do I open it?
A ZIP file is simply a compressed folder used to package several files together.
Windows: Right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All.
Mac: Double-click the ZIP file to extract its contents.
After extraction, open the new folder to access the individual files included with your purchase.
Should I save a backup of my purchase?
Yes. Please download your files after purchase and keep a backup on your computer, external drive, or preferred cloud-storage service.
Your Velvet Ink Atelier download link is intended to deliver your purchase, not to serve as permanent personal file storage.
What if my Dropbox link or download is not working?
First, try opening the link in a standard web browser and downloading the file again.
If the problem continues, contact Velvet Ink Atelier with your order information and the name of the product you purchased. If a file is missing, damaged, or otherwise defective, we will help resolve the issue.

Files, Software & Printing
What file formats are included?
File formats vary by product and are clearly listed in each product description.
Depending on the collection, products may include formats such as PNG, JPG, PDF, or ZIP files containing multiple files.
Please confirm that the included formats are compatible with your intended software before purchasing.
What resolution are the files?
Print-oriented raster artwork is prepared at high resolution when appropriate for the product. Exact dimensions, resolution, and file specifications are provided in the individual product listing.
Always use the original downloaded files for the best print quality rather than screenshots or images saved from a product preview.
What software do I need?
Software requirements depend on the file type and what you intend to create.
Standard image files such as PNG and JPG can be used with many common graphics and layout applications. PDF files can be opened with standard PDF-compatible software.
Please check the product description for included file types and confirm compatibility with your preferred software before purchasing.
Can I print the files at home?
Yes, printable products may be printed using a suitable home printer or sent to a professional printing service.
For best results, use the original high-resolution files and select the appropriate print-quality settings for your printer and paper.
Why do the printed colors look slightly different from my screen?
Computer monitors, phones, printers, inks, papers, and color settings can all reproduce color differently.
Because screens display color using light while printers reproduce color using ink or toner, slight variations between the on-screen preview and the finished print are normal.
A test print is recommended before producing a large quantity.
Are all digital papers and patterns seamless?
No. A design should be considered seamless or tileable only when the individual product listing specifically describes it as a seamless repeating pattern.
Please do not assume that every digital paper is designed for continuous edge-to-edge repetition.
Do clipart files have transparent backgrounds?
When transparent-background PNG files are included, this will be stated in the product description.
Always check the individual listing for the exact file specifications included with that collection.
Can I resize the artwork?
Yes, raster artwork such as PNG and JPG files can generally be reduced in size without a problem.
Significantly enlarging a raster image beyond its original dimensions may reduce image quality or create visible pixelation. Check the dimensions provided with your product before using it for unusually large-format printing.

Personal & Commercial Use
Can I use Velvet Ink Atelier artwork for personal projects?
Yes. Purchased artwork may be used for your own personal projects in accordance with the license included with the product.
Personal projects may include activities such as journaling, scrapbooking, card making, crafting, home printing, personal gifts, and other non-commercial creative projects.
Can I use Velvet Ink Atelier artwork commercially?
Commercial use is permitted when allowed by the license included with your purchase.
This generally means you may incorporate the artwork into qualifying finished products that you create and sell, provided your use follows the Velvet Ink Atelier License Terms.
Please review the full License Terms before beginning a commercial project.
Can I sell physical products made with the artwork?
Yes, when permitted under your license.
Examples may include finished stationery, journals, cards, printed crafts, stickers, décor, packaging, and other physical end products.
The original digital files themselves may not be distributed to your customers.
Can I use the artwork in digital products that I sell?
You may use the artwork in qualifying finished digital products when permitted by your license, provided your finished product does not redistribute or expose the original Velvet Ink Atelier files.
Your customer must not be able to extract, copy, download, or reuse the original artwork as a separate design asset.
Simply placing an original Velvet Ink Atelier image into another downloadable collection and reselling it is not permitted.
Can I use the artwork for print-on-demand products?
Print-on-demand use is permitted only when allowed by your license and when the Velvet Ink Atelier artwork has been incorporated into a new finished design that complies with the License Terms.
Uploading the original artwork or digital paper as-is, or with only insignificant changes, to a print-on-demand marketplace is not permitted.
You are also responsible for complying with the rules and intellectual-property requirements of the print-on-demand service you use.
Can I use the artwork in books published through Amazon KDP?
Qualifying use in book covers, interiors, journals, activity books, and other published products may be permitted under the Velvet Ink Atelier License Terms.
The artwork must be used as part of a finished product rather than redistributed as a digital design resource.
Publishers are responsible for complying with Amazon KDP’s current content, licensing, and artificial-intelligence disclosure requirements.
Can I resell, share, or give away the original files?
No.
You may not resell, redistribute, share, sublicense, upload, give away, trade, or otherwise provide the original Velvet Ink Atelier digital files to another person.
This restriction applies whether the files are provided individually, in a bundle, as part of another clipart or digital-paper collection, or through a file-sharing or membership service.
Can I make small changes and then resell the artwork as my own?
No.
Recoloring, cropping, adding a filter, changing the file format, adding a border, adding text, or making other minor changes does not turn the original artwork into a new digital asset that you may redistribute.
Commercial products must comply with the transformation and end-product requirements described in the Velvet Ink Atelier License Terms.
Can I use the artwork for client projects?
Qualifying client work may be permitted under the applicable license.
You may provide your client with the completed end product you created, but you may not transfer the original Velvet Ink Atelier source files to the client for independent use.
If the client wants to use the original artwork separately in other projects, they must obtain their own appropriate license.
Can I share my purchased files with another designer, employee, friend, or family member?
No, unless the license specifically provides multi-user rights.
A standard purchase is intended for the licensed purchaser. Another person who wants independent access to the original files should obtain their own license.
Can I use the artwork in a logo or trademark?
Because Velvet Ink Atelier digital assets are generally licensed on a non-exclusive basis, they should not be treated as an exclusively owned brand asset.
Do not register an unaltered Velvet Ink Atelier illustration, pattern, or other design asset as your exclusive trademark or claim exclusive ownership of the underlying artwork.
Do I need to credit Velvet Ink Atelier?
Credit is appreciated but is not required for uses permitted under the standard license unless a particular product or license specifically states otherwise.
You may never represent the original Velvet Ink Atelier artwork itself as artwork created entirely by you.
Is my purchase exclusive?
No, unless a product is specifically sold under an exclusive agreement.
Velvet Ink Atelier digital products may be licensed to multiple customers.
Your purchase gives you permission to use the files according to the applicable license. It does not prevent Velvet Ink Atelier from licensing the same collection to other customers.

Returns, Problems & Support
Do you accept returns or refunds on digital products?
Because digital products cannot be physically returned after delivery, Velvet Ink Atelier generally does not accept returns or exchanges for successfully delivered digital purchases.
However, if your files are defective, incomplete, corrupted, or materially different from the product description, please contact us so the problem can be investigated and corrected.
Nothing in this policy limits consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
What if I accidentally purchase the same product twice?
Contact Velvet Ink Atelier with the order information as soon as possible.
Verified accidental duplicate purchases may be reviewed individually.
What if I cannot get the files to work with my software?
Velvet Ink Atelier can assist with problems involving the files supplied with your purchase, such as a missing or corrupted file.
However, we cannot provide comprehensive technical support or training for third-party applications, printers, cutting machines, design software, operating systems, or online platforms.
Please confirm software compatibility before purchasing.

Artificial Intelligence & The Creative Process
Does Velvet Ink Atelier use artificial intelligence?
Yes. Generative AI may be used as one of the creative tools involved in developing Velvet Ink Atelier artwork.
AI is used within a human-directed creative process that may include concept development, art direction, prompting and iteration, selection and curation, editing, compositing, color development, cleanup, formatting, and final production preparation.
Velvet Ink Atelier believes customers should know how the artwork they purchase is created, and AI involvement is disclosed rather than hidden.
Does purchasing AI-assisted or AI-generated artwork change my license?
No. Your permitted use is determined by the Velvet Ink Atelier license provided with the product.
Purchasing a digital file does not give permission to redistribute the original asset, claim exclusive ownership of it, or ignore the terms of the license.
If you use Velvet Ink Atelier artwork on a third-party marketplace, publishing service, or print-on-demand platform, you are responsible for following that platform’s current rules regarding artificial-intelligence content and disclosure.
